Vibration AnalysisEvery mechanical component generates a unique vibration frequency. In addition to these frequencies, mechanical defects and poor installation generates ”Defect Frequencies”. These frequencies are directly linked to machine geometry, condition and rotational speed. Vibration Analysis identifies these specific frequencies and their level of severity. A good vibration monitoring program is the foundation of most predictive maintenance programs. Periodic machine condition monitoring (trending) will identify subtle changes in component performance before they impact part quality or cause catastrophic failure. This results in an early warning system that provides lead-time to plan a maintenance response. Repairs to the equipment are often less expensive and unscheduled machine downtime is reduced.
